Our rose oil, obtained through 100% hydro-distillation of the Bulgarian Rosa Damascena, is a 100% natural product. It is exclusively produced from the rose flowers harvested from our own rose fields, located in the heart of the Rose Valley. Rose harvest starts around mid May each year. The flower gathering begins at sunrise and lasts until 10 o’clock in the morning while there is still dew on the rose blossoms. All rose plantations are situated in the vicinity of our distillery, which enables the rapid processing of the rose blossoms right after their gathering.

Our rose oil is certified as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) product under the EU Regulation № 1151/2012. The PGI registration covers the entire production process - from the fields to the distillation of the rose flowers. There is full traceability of the process, thus guaranteeing the quality control at each and every step from the rose flower gathering to the obtained essential oil.

The Protected Geographical Indication registration is a confirmation of:

- our rose oil’s genuine nature

- protected geographic area of our own fields of Rosa Damascena

- very strict and precisely monitored production process from the field to the final product.

 

 

Rose Absolute (Rosa Damascena Absolute)

The rose absolute is obtained in two stages. First, rose concrete is produced through solvent extraction from fresh Rosa Damascena flowers. The rose absolute is then made via ethanol extraction from the rose concrete at a lower temperature.

The rose absolute is a reddish liquid with characteristic rose aroma. It has the typical components of the rose essential oil, the main one being the phenyl ethyl alcohol, followed by citronellol, geraniol and nerol. Rose absolute is widely used as a valuable ingredient in perfumery, cosmetic products and aromatherapy.
